U.S. "contractors"

An article about Blackwater Securtiy Consulting who recently lost some employees in a helicoptor crash in Iraq. The news has been calling these civilians "contractors" for years.

Blackwater makes no bones that they are founded by a Navy SEAL and provide armed security. Not your average security detail.

Aren't they called mercenaries when hired by a civilian? Another example of how the government applies different rules to it's own actions.

Yet another Bolton complaint

Can President Bush really NOT have a personal agenda with his nominations? How can ANYONE still think that he has the nations best interest at heart?
This is just another example of the kinds people this administration are trying to put in postions of power.

Can anyone say....Draft

mmmmmmmm could beeeee.

An excerpt from the article:

As unlikely as it sounds, the Army is planning to try to convince parents that sending their beloved children to war is good for them. How? They are going to use slick marketing and propaganda, including:

Television advertisements focused on mothers, fathers, coaches, and ministers—people the Army sees as “influencers.”

Sending vets from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars on home visits with recruiters to tell parents “the Army story.”

Producing a video that highlights the voices of parents who tell viewers how joining the Army was good for their children.

A direct mail campaign to high school juniors and seniors requesting visits to discuss the benefits of joining the Army.

The latest in how Japan is trying to subvert the international ban on whaling.
Read the article and learn about what Japan has been doing for years.
Thanks to the Sea Shepard Conservation Society, whose link can be found in the left hand column, I have known about this for years, otherwise I never would have known.

Mumias column about the school shooting

Click on the title to go to this article.

This award winning journalist should have his columns in every major paper in the country. Man he writes well!!

Not only do his columns inform, they make you think, ahh, no wonder why the major media players don't publish him.

Thank you anonymous for the direct link.

Censoring in Town Hall Meetings

Read this article in the Washington Post about how attendees are asked to leave because of a BUMPER STICKER on their car.

Think about that. That means that plates were run and identities were found out to discover who owned the car. This is happening OUTSIDE the Secret Service.

ARE YOU F#@^&*G KIDDING ME!!!!!

This is McCarthyism all over again.

Perspective

Having just scrolled down my blog I realized that it is positively anti-Bush and not much else and this could present this blog as just another anti-bush blah, blah, blah..

Well, while I am Anti-Bush and believe that he should be impeached and that he and the republicans have infringed upon more civil liberties than any other presidency in History etc. etc..
This purpose of this blog is not to be just anti-Bush. Bush is just what I am on my soapbox about these days. I have other things that will get my dander up now and again.
Nay you say?

Well, for example, how about if I said that your sickness is good for business? That the federal government doesn't want your country to be a healthy place?
Well, I don't have links at this time but from "looking at the movements" I ask you these questions:
Has the countries water gotten any cleaner since the clean water act?
If so, why are more beaches polluted now than when the law was passed?

If someone had told you when you were a kid, that water would be a multi billion dollar industry when you grew up, would you have believed them (for those of us over 30, I guess)? Does this represent a society that is getting LESS polluted or more?

That your ill-health is good for business and is just another way to keep the economy rolling and your sickness is the key to it, what would you say?
With all the FDA regulation and USDA regulation in this country and the billiions of dollars spent on and in these organizations, why are we one of the UN-healthiest countries in the western world?

Did you know that only 400 of the over 10,000 chemicals used in agriculture in this country have been approved for use?
Did you know that over 80 percent of the farm-aid that the government gives goes to farms owned by multi-national corporations?

That hi-fructose corn syrup is horrible for your health and should not be ingested? Do some research on it and read the labels of the food you buy. It is hard not to buy something with it in it. And corn syrup doesn't taste as good.
If you need an example of this, try a Coke made in another country, it tastes better. Here in California, it is easy to get Mexican Coke, not only does it come in a glass bottle (which is just the way it should be) but it tastes like Coke used to taste. They use sugar in the mexican bottling plants. They use corn syrup in the US bottling plants. This is because corn syrup is a cheaper sweetner than cane sugar. That and also that the US is better suited to growing corn than it is sugar. Of course it doesn't hurt that we, the taxpayer subsidize the larger corn growers.

Did you know that goat milk is better for you than cow's milk? Goat DNA is closer to human DNA than the cow. And that the fat molecule is smaller and more easily digestible than that of the molecule found in Bovine. Cows milk is really good for making a calf gain 400 pounds in it's first year of life.
Maybe if the goat growers of america had a better lobbyist...

OF course the real test is how it (goats milk) would taste with chocolate cake. If any of you know please get back to me. I always read the commments.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that people should be able to eat, drink, and live the lives they CHOOSE to live, as long as they are willing to accept the responsiblities that come with that lifestyle choice. Hmm, personal accountablity, another thing that is being removed from us, but that is another issue.

Anyway, see I'm not just about being Anti-Bush it's just what is some of the more pressing issues of the times.

Peace out

Big Ben

Ohio voting

Listen to a statement from the lead attorney in the Ohio voting debacle.

Wolfowitz and Halliburton.

Could this possibly be a conflict of interest as the Bush administrations for the new head of the world bank. Nah, the Bush administration would never appoint a corporate big-wig into a position of influence where they could personally profit from...would they?

Oh, yea, I forgot, that's the case with all of his appointee's.
Here is the scoop on the latest.
