Secret Surveillance May Have Occurred Before Authorization

Are you telling me that the U.S. Government has been vioulating peoples civil liberties?!! And under a Republican administration!!!!

Summary:
No one seems to want to say the date that the president authorized the secret surveillance program. A letter written by Nancy Pelosi in early October of 2001, portions of which were declassified January 3 (2006), indicates that the House Intelligence Committee was informed in a briefing by then-NSA director Gen. Michael V. Hayden that the NSA had been operating since Sept. 11, 2001 in an expanded capacity.
